Loud sounds (including music) can have a serious effect on your hearing.  Please turn your audio system down to avoid damaging your hearing.  To give you an idea of different sound intensities, here is a chart.  Keep in mind that some car audio systems may be quite a bit louder than 140db.  Personally mine will do around 153db, but I wear hearing protection when getting it tested.  BE CAREFUL!!  You only get 1 set of ears!!!

Sound intensities are typically measured in decibels (db). A decibel is defined as 10 times the logarithm of the power ratio (power ratio is the ratio of the intensity of the sount to the intensity of an arbitrary standard point.) Normally a change in 1db is the smallest volume change detectable by the human ear.
